Beryl McKnight was elected to Carrickfergus Council in May 2011. She is chairperson and volunteer Development Worker with Carrickfergus Neighbourhood Development Group based at the Oakfield Community Centre. Beryl is also chairperson of the recently formed Carrickfergus Older Peoples Forum.
Beryl works with all age groups in the community and sits on different committees such as Road Safety, DPP, Arts and Events, Parks and Countryside and is vice chair of Building Services committee. Beryl moved to Carrickfergus from Londonderry in the late seventies when her late husband was transferred to Belfast to work as an engineer in the Post Office. She has 2 daughters and a son and her hobbies are Painting, Crochet, and Sewing.
Beryl is dedicated to working hard for all the people of Carrickfergus, as she believes that the town has so much to give.
