Deborah Emerson was elected to Carrickfergus Borough Council in May 2011. She has worked in the social housing sector for more than ten years and is acutely aware of the difficulties facing the local community in today's climate in terms of adequate housing provision.
She started her working life as a reporter for five years at a local newspaper and has been an articulate advocate of people's needs.
As a child she attended Sunnylands Primary School, Carrickfergus College and progressed to Carrickfergus Grammar for further education. She is married with a young daughter and lives locally.
She is committed to working for everyone in matters of constituency business and serving the public.
