Carrickfergus Borough Council - Carrickfergus in Bloom

Carrickfergus in Bloom

One of the many reasons why we feel justifiably proud of Carrickfergus is its abundance of flowers and attractive horticultural displays. Carrickfergus Borough Council developed the ‘Carrickfergus in Bloom’ initiative to brighten up the Borough, and as a result, each summer it is enlivened by hundreds of hanging baskets, bedding displays, shrub beds and trees that help make the town a brighter place for its citizens and visitors. Everyone can play a role in the enhancement of Carrickfergus and the improvement of the town as a place to live, work and visit.

Each year we organise the Carrickfergus in Bloom Community Competitions with a £1200 prize fund. The categories are Best Kept Garden; Best Kept Container Garden; Best Kept Community Planting Scheme; Best Kept Commercial Premises; and Best Kept Floral Display by Traders in a Street or Centre. The Young people's categories include Painting, Poetry, Tallest Sunflower and the Giant Pumpkin Competition. To enter the Carrickfergus in Bloom Community Competitions or view a list of the latest winners visit the Carrickfergus in Bloom website.
