'Orangefest 2012' comprises the traditional Carrickfergus Pageant as well as a specially programmed schedule of events to mark Carrickfergus' flagship status for The Twelfth celebrations in 2012.

The Combine Cup Football Tournament
Saturday 7 July
Time: 10am - 4.30pm
Venue: Marine Gardens

A competition between the District Lodges in the East Antrim Combine. A family fun day in Marine Gardens with activities for the parents and children, complete with a musical concert.

Twelfth July Celebrations
Thursday 12 July
Time: Parade starting at approx 11am
Venue: Various

Carrickfergus has the privilege of hosting the East Antrim Combine Twelfth every 10 years and has been chosen as one of the Flagship Twelfths for 2012.

The Combine is made up of nine district lodges - Larne, Randalstown, Staffordstown, Killead, Antrim, Sixmilewater, Carnmoney, Cloughfern and Carrickfergus - with more than 70 private lodges and approximately 8,000 members.

Members of the Junior Orange Order, Ladies Orange lodges and members from England and Scotland will also be present.

More than 60 of the finest marching bands from Northern Ireland, England and Scotland will be on parade and this will add to the spectacle planned for the day.

The parade will move off at 11am, led by King William, accompanied by a troop of pikemen in period costume with music by Sir Henry Inglesby’s Fife and Drum Corps. Pageantry will definitely be the order of the day in Carrickfergus.

The District Lodge will leave the Albert Road Orange Hall at 10.30am accompanied by King William 111, a company of pikemen and Sir Henry Inglesby’s Fife & Drum Corps.

They will parade up to Sunnylands Avenue where the visiting Districts will be assembled in Drumhoy Drive and Salia Avenue. The visiting Districts will fall in behind the host District in numerical order.

The route will be Sunnylands Avenue, Northlands, North Road, St Brides Street, Albert Road, Lancasterian Street, Antrim Street, Joymount, Scotch Quarter, Taylors Avenue, Marine Highway, Belfast Road, Davy Street, Ellis Street, Woodburn Road, Woodburn Playing Fields.

The return parade will leave the playing fields at 4pm in numerical order.

The route will be Woodburn Road, Ellis Street, Davy Street, Belfast Road, Marine Highway, Joymount Link, Joymount, Antrim Street, Lancasterian Street, Albert Road, St Brides Street, North Road.

Among the visitors will be a Scottish lodge from Armadale LOL 111, who are celebrating their 150th anniversary.

A local pastor Drew Hamill will conduct the service.

The day will feature a Landau for visiting dignitaries, a short concert and a variety of amusements and entertainment for children.

The Siege of Carrickfergus & Re-enactment
Friday 13 July
Time: approx 12noon-4pm
Venue: Castle Green

A re-enactment of the siege of Carrickfergus Castle and the landing of King William including re-enactment groups from around the country all dressed in period costume followed by a Pageantry parade through the Town.

Historical Re-enactment & Town Wall Tours
Saturday 14 July
Times: 12pm - 4pm and 8pm - 9.30pm
Tours- 12noon & 2pm (lasting between 60-90minutes beginning at the bottom of the Caslte ramp)

Venue: Castle & Town Walls

A day reflecting on the historical points of interest in the Borough relating to the events surrounding the siege of the Castle, the landing place of King William and the Town Walls.
Re-enactors in period costume will be taking part in the events, with walking tours of all the points of interest given by Dr. Ruairi O'Baoill and Frazer Agnew. There will be an evening concert of Ulster Scots music at Carrickfergus Castle and a grand fireworks display to bring the celebrations to a close between 9.30pm-10pm.
