Carrickfergus in Bloom 2013 Launched
This lunchtime (24th May) Alderman May Beattie, Chairperson of the Parks, Countryside & Amenities sub-committee will launch Carrickfergus in Bloom 2013 in the grounds of the Andrew Jackson Cottage. School children from throughout Carrickfergus Borough and Community representatives will also be joining in, to the sounds of the APEX Jazz Band. Full story

REVAL 2015 NI REBALANCING BUSINESS RATES
Reval 2015 NI is the process by which Land & Property Services (LPS) will revalue all non-domestic properties in Northern Ireland for rates. Once complete the rateable value of all non-domestic properties will be in line with property values as at 1 April 2013. This will restore balance to the rating system. Full story

Ash Dieback at Bashfordsland Wood
On Friday (10th May 2013) the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) served a Notice on Carrickfergus Borough Council regarding ash dieback at Bashfordsland Wood. Measures within the Notice include the removal of approximately 1000 ash trees planted from 2007. All other tree species are unaffected. Full story
