Co-op Travelcare branch in Sainsburys has been designated a Specialist travel branch with the shop being fully DDA compliant with clear access, portable hearing loops, visual alarms and with all staff trained. Next week they will be participating in a Disability Focus Week to promote their services but also offer various discounts and deals to clients traveling with the specialist operators they deal with.

'Can Be Done' offers holidays all over the world from Florida to Gran Canaria on a tailormade basis. They have 25 years experience in specialist travel and will guarantee any equipment hire such as hoists into pools and fully wheelchair accessible rooms. They also can provide specialist transfers and can provide interpreters for the hard of hearing. They can arrange dialysis for clients who require it whilst abroad. The hotels they offer are fully accessible for wheelchair users but they do not feature destinations that do not have a suitable infrastructure eg India as the accessibility is not as good.  As well as Mediterranean holidays they feature destinations such as USA and Australia.

Redpoint is a ski operator that specialises in bespoke ski holidays in the Ziller Valley in Austria. Redpoint feature snowboarding and skiing for families, singles and also adaptive skiing. Their aim is to enable a family or group of friends to go skiing with their disabled friend or relative with the ultimate goal of everyone skiing together. They offer various adapted ski equipment such as Bi-skiing, monoskiing, 3 track skiing and also skiing for the visually impaired. Previous Redpoint customers who have Mono-skied include a man with spina bifida who uses a wheelchair; a girl with a prosthetic leg learnt to ski from beginner level with 3 track skiing; a man with a spinal injury C7 and no hand grip learnt to ski assisted down a red run and a man with a detached retina in both eyes learnt to ski with a guide. Redpoint Instruction for Disabled Skiers is provided by specially trained instructors, usually qualified to teach both able bodied and disabled skiers.

Traveleyes specialise in world holidays for both the visually impaired and sighted travelers, who journey together in a spirit of mutual independence. You travel as part of a small, cohesive group on adventure holidays, relaxing breaks or even a cultural expedition. Their emphasis is on high quality, multi-sensory experience serving blind and sighted customers from all parts of the world. Destinations this year included destinations as diverse as Croatia, Peru and Egypt! As a sighted customer you are 'teamed' with a visually impaired customer who describes what they are seeing. Their trips tend to be multi-sensory and include such things a cookery courses and trips to perfumery. It is a group holiday but is not restricted or regulated - camaraderie is the main description! Sighted passengers get a discount of up to 50% and are not expected to care for the visually impaired.’
