Beginners Guide to Benefits

10 February 2011

Find out useful information about the benefits system from the nidirect website.

The benefits system provides practical help and financial support if you are unemployed and looking for work. It also provides you with additional income when your earnings are low, if you are bringing up children, are retired, care for someone, are ill or have a disability. Sometimes though it can be difficult to understand benefits and to find out if you qualify. nidirect has a section which provide easy to read information about:

- how to find out if you qualify for benefits;

- how to claim benefit;

- how to appeal against a benefits decision; and

- changes that affect your benefit.
