Pool Closure on 7th & 8th September
Please be advised that both pools will be closed on Wednesday 7th & Thursday 8th September for essential maintenance. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused. Normal pool operating times will resume from Friday 9th September.
Please be advised that both pools will be restricted for NPLQ as follows:
Fri 26th Aug, 1pm – 4.30pm; Tues 30th Aug, 1pm – 4.30pm; Wed 31st Aug, 8.30am – 12 noon; Thurs 1st Sept, 1pm – 4.30pm; Fri 2nd Sept, 8.30am – 12 noon; Sat 3rd Sept, 1pm – 3pm; Sun 4th Sept 9am – 10.30am (lifeguard exam taking place)
The new autumn timetable commences on Monday 5th September with classes available for booking from Monday 29th August. Click here to download.
Classes at Amphitheatre are free to members and £4.00 per class (£3.50 concession rate) for non members (Charges will apply for Les Mills Body Combat).
All classes must be booked in advance. 24 hours notice must be given for cancellation.
Les Mills Body Combat comes to Amphitheatre
BODYCOMBAT is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic programme is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, taekwondo, tai chi and muay thai. Supported by driving music and powerful role model instructors, you strike, punch, kick and kata your way through calories to superior cardio fitness. Les Mills BodyCombat will help to improve heart and lung function while reducing the risk of heart disease, tone and shape key muscle groups burn calories for a leaner body, improve co-ordination and agility, improve bone density, improve posture, core strength & stability and build self confidence.
Classes will take place on Tuesdays at 8pm, Thursdays at 6.30pm (in the Arena) and Saturdays at 9am (in Concordia). Booking is essential at £1 per class per member, or £8 to secure your place for 8 weeks. Classes are £4 per class to non members.

Amphitheatre prides itself as providing the highest standard of children's swimming lessons following the ASA National Plan. Classes are booked as a 10 week session and are held throughout the week at various times operating through from level 1 to level 9. Each block of sessions are priced at £50 per child and include 10 free swimming sessions for the child to gain extra practice, valid for the duration of the swimming sessions.
The next set of swimming lessons commences on Saturday 10th September 2011 and there are limited places still available. Please check with the staff at reception for the latest availability in order to avoid disappointment. You can also click on the levels below for information on what your child will be expected to achieve at each level.
Amphitheatre Wellness Centre is pleased to announce that the Adult Swimming Lessons are now open for enrolment for new classes commencing in October 2011.
Classes will commence on Monday 3rd October to Monday 12th December (10 week course) at the following times:
Adult Beginners class: 6pm - 6.45pm
Adult Improvers class: 6.45pm - 7.30pm
The cost of the ten week course is £60 per person and can be paid for at the reception of Amphitheatre Wellness Centre.
Please note that places are limited and will be available on a first come first served basis. Book early to avoid disappointment!!
