  • Ballymena Business Excellence Awards launched

    The 2016 Ballymena Business Excellence Awards have been launched at a reception in the Braid. This is the 14th year of the awards which are organised annually by Ballymena Borough Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is the principal sponsor for this year’s awards.

  • Summer Fair set to bloom in Larne’s Market Yard

    Larne’s Market Yard will burst into bloom at the weekend as Mid and East Antrim Borough’s Flower Show and Summer Fair takes place.

    The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough, Councillor Audrey Wales MBE, (pictured) is encouraging everyone to take part in the event, on Saturday 20 August 1pm-4pm.

  • Mayor welcomes official four-star visitor attraction award at Carnfunnock Country Park

    Carnfunnock Country Park has been recognised with a four-star rating under this year’s Tourism Northern Ireland’s Visitor Attraction Quality Grading Scheme. Welcoming around 200,000 visitors each year, Carnfunnock is now one of Northern Ireland’s best known country parks and Larne town’s best known tourist attraction.

  • Islandmagee In the Frame as Art Trail Brings Culture Vultures to Mid and East Antrim

    Islandmagee will become a hub of creative and artistic flair from Saturday 26 - Sunday 27 August as local artists, crafts people, writers and photographers open their homes and studios to the public each day from 10am-5pm for a series of free exhibitions.

  • Development Plan moves ahead as Timetable published with first Statement of Community Involvement

    Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has taken an important step in publishing the Local Development Plan Timetable to signal the formal commencement of work on the Plan.

    In parallel with this the Council is publishing its first Statement of Community Involvement for the full and appropriate engagement of the community in the Local Development Plan and in other area of the Council’s planning remit.

    The August meeting of the Council’s Planning Committee hosted the formal launch of two new documents, the Local Development Plan Timetable and its Statement of Community Involvement.

    Mid and East Antrim Borough council is celebrating National Allotment Week 2016, which runs from Monday 8th – Sunday 14th August, with a series of green events that aim to bring the community together and showcase the benefits that caring for an allotment can bring.

  • Mayor welcomes upgrade for Carrickfergus’s Household Recycling Centre

    A major investment is being undertaken at a local Household Recycling Centre (HRC). While there will be some inconvenience for local householders when the centre at Sullatober Lane off Marshallstown Road in Carrickfergus closes in September, the result will be an improved facility.
