Carrickfergus Borough Council invites you to take part in their Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile. Starting at the Amphitheatre Wellness Centre at 10.15am, the 1, 3 or 6 mile route will take runners through the green space along the Barnfield Sport Complex adjacent to Shaftsbury Park, this event will have something for all the family so sign up today!
As one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise money and change lives. The Sport Relief Weekend is taking place from Friday 23rd March to Sunday 25th March 2012 encompassing three whole days of energy, entertainment and events for everyone to enjoy.
From the Friday of fundraising fun, and a night of comedy on BBC One, right through to the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on Sunday, it promises to be a brilliant weekend. All of the money raised will be spent by Comic Relief to help people living unimaginably tough lives both at home in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.
The Sport Relief Mile is fun and is great for making local communities part of a huge, national campaign to raise money and change lives. The Sport Relief Mile is an event open to anyone, regardless of ability or age, that offers the opportunity to run, walk, jog 1, 3 or 6 miles. All routes are wheelchair accessible.
