07 June 2012

DARD's Rural Borewells Scheme aims to provide financial assistance for the construction of a private borewell (and/or installation of appropriate treatment works) to enable applicants to obtain a wholesome water supply in rural areas where accessing the public water mains is not technically or financially possible.

Who can apply?
Applications are sought from owners/landlords only - tenants are not eligible to apply.
The property must be either owner-occupied or privately rented accommodation.
For privately rented accommodation, the owner of the property can apply, as landlord, for grant on behalf of his/her tenant.

The Rural Borewells Scheme has been developed in partnership between DARD and the Department for Regional Development (DRD).

The Scheme will be open to receive applications between Wednesday 6th June 2012 and 4pm on Friday 29thJune 2012.
Applications received after 4pm on this date will not be accepted.
